Médias en Seine Overview

Founded in 2018, Médias en Seine is the benchmark event that brings together the general public and professionals to reflect on the future of media. At a time when 85% of citizens worldwide express concern about the impact of online misinformation, and 40% of people report avoiding the news, media are more essential than ever for public debate and social life. For franceinfo and Groupe Les Echos–Le Parisien, this day represents a strong commitment to analyzing and imagining what will shape the future of media.

MÉDIAS EN SEINE, THE INTERNATIONAL MEETING POINT WITH MEDIA THAT ENGAGE AND EXPERIMENT

2026 THEME New worlds, new powers

How media is reinventing itself in the face of political and technological disruptions. The rise of illiberalism in democracies and the acceleration of AI development have shaken traditional media whose models are already heavily challenged by digital transformation, platforms and social networks. Faced with these major transformations, their role is changing and they must now demonstrate their ability to support societal transformations. They are thus trying to constantly adapt to new uses, continue their role of information and highlighting social issues and maintain public trust. For this 8th edition on January 15, 2026, Médias en Seine will thus address the different aspects of this new influence, notably addressing the editorial and economic transformation of media to attract and retain audiences, the emergence of new information and entertainment talents and innovative narratives, the role and place of investigation, the possibilities to put AI at the service of journalism and the fight against manipulation.
